The Good And Bad News about Gillian Chung!

Hong Kong publisher Next Media, best known for its aggressive and flamboyant reporting styles and paparazzi-style photographs, has been slapped with a HK$175,000 (US$22,600) fine for indecency.

The fine was issued by a Hong Kong court after it found seven cases of indecent photographs published in the company’s magazine. Among them were pictures of pop singer Gillian Chung.

Chung, one half of pop double act Twins, was snapped while changing backstage at a concert in Kuala Lumpur in 2006.

That provoked record numbers of public complaints to Hong Kong's Television & Entertainment Licensing Authority. Canto-pop star Jackie Chan and other celebs also petitioned for tighter rules on paparazzi-style photography.

Next Media's "Easy Finder" magazine which was responsible for publishing the photos, has since been forced to close down.
