The father of pop singer Britney Spears was granted indefinite control over her personal and business affairs by a judge in Los Angeles, a court said.
The judge, Reva Goetz, had placed the troubled star under the conservatorship of her father Jamie Spears on February 1 after she was hospitalized for psychiatric evaluation.
The measure was extended until the end of this year and was prolonged indefinitely by the judge on Tuesday after a new hearing.
Spears' lawyer Samuel Ingham said that the singer, who was the highest earning female artist from 2000-2005, had no objections to the ruling.
Since February, Spears, 26, has shown signs of rebuilding her life, staying away from the spotlight and working on a new album to be released on December 2 containing the single "Womanizer" which leapt to the top of the music charts.
Over the summer, she reached a divorce settlement with ex-husband Kevin Federline after a lengthy legal battle that granted him custody of their two sons, aged two and three. She has visiting rights.
